School
After three days of school I gotta say I like it so far. It feels very different to be "Oberstufe" (Grade 11-13). Everything feels more serious and I'm way motivated to study. But that goes away ;) My classes are nice so far and I'm enjoying the few students in every class (about 20). It just very stressful to change your schedule. I had to wait 40min in line to switch classes.

First Day of School
I just came home from school and it wasn't very exciting. School starts at 7:50. I'm in "Qualifikationsphase-1" or grade 12- The first two periods we were crowed in a small class room. we = half of my grade = about 130 students. I didn't get a seat so I had to stand for two periods while our counsellors/teachers talked to us about attendance, grades, schedules...
Then I got my schedule and it's awful. I don't like many of my teachers and I'll have them for two years.

This is my schedule without my teachers:

I have a total of 4 free periods inbetween classes where I can do homework or go home. Every period is 45min long. School usually starts at 7:50 except for Monday, because I have the first two periods free. So it doesn't start before 9:40. On Mondays and Wednesdays I'm done by 1:15pm, on Fridays and Tuesdays I'm done by 3:45 and on Thursdays I'm done by 5:30pm.

In grade 12 and 13 every grade you goes into your "Abitur". You have to choose four classes to take "Abitur Exams". Two of them are advanced classes. Advanced classes are harder and you spend more time with them. I chose English and Biology. Besides these two advanced classes you choose one other class for your written exams and one for your oral exams. I'll take my written exams in Math and my oral exams in Social Science.

Haha I know this sounds very complicated if your aren't familiar with the German school system ;)

The Story of S'mores
Finally we had a few nice days of summer. After 17km of biking my Mom, my brother and I had a barbeque. No fire without S'mores! I convinced my family to try them and they loved them ;)

My mom dropped her marshemellow three times in the ashes!

And my brother discovered that eating a S'more is harder than eating a Döner.

We had way too much for three people so our neighbors had to try. The Junker's family obviously enjoyed them.

The Lüdktehaus family needed a little bit more convincing, but they tried!

Can you see the joy in his eyes?

Lacrosse Cologne
Last Thursday I had my first practice with the lacrosse team of Cologne. They have two way nice fields! One for the men and one for the women. Everyone was suprised that I had all the stuff for lacrosse, because they thought I was new. It's kinda like the club of the returned exchange students. Everyone there did study abroad at some point in her life, so we speak perfect "denglish". We talk in German, but all the words from lacrosse are in english. It's funny and easier to understand for me. Practice was much fun and the captains wanted me to join the team. But for now I won't join, because Floorball is more important, but it was good to know that I could play there.

First Pre-Season Games
Yesterday our team drove the far way to Enschede (Netherlands) to play the 1.Division Lady's team. We dominated the game and won 7:1. I played forward the entire game and scored one goal after a great pass from Caro. After the game we asked their Men's team if we can play a short game (30min) against them. We played really well and until 5 sec before the end the score was 0:0 with chances on both sides. The final score was 0:1.

My brother and I are doing a scuba class. It's fun and I'm excited for my next class in a lake instead of the pool.
Something strange has happened:
It's sunny today! Hopefully the wather stays longer than a few days..

Sunday with Mom
Wow we really had a few sunny hours yesterday so my Mom and I took our bikes and biked a few miles. It was really nice. In the evening we went to see Harry Potter again, this time in english. It's so much better to watch it in english and I could watch it over and over again!
