Olympus Champions
Monday morning at 6:30am a group of 9 people started to hike Mount Olympus. They mountain our school is named after.

Not even half way up our group decreased to the size of 7 members.

At the saddle only four of us were left to rest for the final climbing part.

After four hours of exhausting hiking over rocks, through water and snow we made it to the top.

Mount Olympus is 9,026 feet high.

Six hours later and very tired me, Brandon, Lindsey and Cody were back at the foot of the mountain waiting for our friends who had given up and drove to Café Rio.

Sunset hiking
Saturday I helped to set up for Rachels Birthdayparty. Around 8 my friends and I met and started hiking up Millcreek canyon. Somewhere high over the city we stopped and waited until dark and hiked back down with flash lights.

Lagoon
Last friday we went with the entire family to Lagoon, the fun park here. We had a great day and much fun riding rollercoasters and all these other "maschines".

A nice surprise
Last sunday Allison asked me after church: "They are here, do you want to go over now?" - "Who's here?" - "The Dastrups." I was so happy. I didn't expected to see them again, but the entire family came up from Arizona. We had a fun water fight and everyone was soaked afterwards.

Last Night Party
After everybody went to dinner with their families, all seniors changed for the Senior Last Night Party and we met at 9:15 at the school, where four busses were waiting for us. We made it with almost all of our friends on the same bus and drove to “planet fun”. On the bus ride we could win money by answering questions, but I couldn’t answer any of them.
Planet fun was a place with Laser Tag, Mini golf, GoKart, Bumpercars, Bowling, Games, Wii, Food…

Laser Tag was my favorite game of all of them.

The GoKarts were fun, because they sucked.

But the best thing of the evening was a hypnosis show after midnight. Everybody had to fold their hands and then the hypnotist said that everybody who can’t open them should come up. They all fall asleep and he let them forget numbers, their names or they had to imagine they are fishing and he asked them what they caught. The answers were hilarious: From the little mermaid to wales everything. My favorite was Nick, who started crying because he “just wanted to be human”.

The words “Midnight Madness” had a very interesting effect on everybody, because suddenly the person next to them smelled incredible good…

They were bodybuilders…

At 3am we got a balloon with a light in it and let them fly away together. It was the last time I saw most of these great people…

I was home around 4, but I didn’t want to go to bed. I had this feeling that if I don’t go to bed, I can hold on to it longer. Many people had the same feeling, because facebook was full with seniors in the middle of the night.

Graduation

The class of 2011: The best class ever and I’m so lucky to have them as friends.
The ensemble sung and the jazz band played. Then we had three speeches and then everybody walked, moved their tassels together and threw their caps.

I went with Alex’ family. Left: Lexi, Right: Alex

Me, Brandon, Jelaire, Hannah

Cody, Jose, Zach, Lexi, Emily

I wished…

Tanner :)

Me, the twins and Alex
After the ceremony I went with Alex’ family to dinner and at 9pm I met all seniors to get on the bus for the last night party.

Last days of school
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were no classes anymore. Tuesday we drove up the canyon and made a campfire and s’mores. Then we watched a movie at Hannah’s. I was home around midnight, so I didn’t come Wednesday before 10 and then we played cards. I had to go to my fourth period because we had a talent show. Wednesday evening I got my first yearbook ever. It was yearbook stomp in the courtyard and everybody sat down and signed yearbooks for three hours.

Zach
Around 9ish I went to Lindsey’s. She had a pool party and made a wonderful slide show of the three years of high school.

The next day was yearbook day. So you could just come whenever you wanted and sign more yearbooks. At 10 was the seminary BBQ and everyone sat down in front of the seminary building.

Hannah and I

Alec (the guy I went on a date with in “Groupdate”) and I

Doug and I, best SBO president a school could ask for

Byam and I, funniest school cop of all.

Miss G and I, the best graphics teacher who made sure I go to prom.

Goodbye
There is a huge difference between saying "See ya" and saying "goodbye". It is weird to think that I probably just said bye to many amazing people I will never see again. This night showed again how awesome this class is and I will always remember the great moments.

Game on
Senior assassins here we go!
Best game ever. I'm not in it, but I'm helping my friends. It's hilaripus. Everybody got a name and they have to kill that person by getting him or her 25% wet. Then the person is out and you get the name. Last person surviving wins. Everybody is totally paranoid. We don't have school tomorrow, so we get up early and camp in front of this one guys house until he comes out :)

End of lacrosse season
After we won the JV championship on Monday the season for my JV girls was over. But it meant for me that I could focus 100% on varsity. We beat Riverton Friday in the quarterfinals. That meant we had to face Bingham on Wednesday. The game was at Judge Memorial Stadium – a very nice turf field. It was pouring without any break. After five minutes of warming up everybody was soaked. The balls kept slipping out of our sticks and it was freezing cold. All in all terrible conditions for the game, but it had a little dramatic feeling with it: Warming up in the rain, playing in this beautiful stadium, music…
We got together for our team goals and at this point it was clear that everyone wanted to win this and nobody cared about prom plans they made on the day of the finals. Then the coaches talked to us. They told us to “shake it off and step up.” As a reminder everybody got a piece of paper with “Step up” on it which we stuck in our socks. Then we lined up and the starters were announced.
The game wasn’t our best game. We kept losing the ball and at half time we were down by 3:6. We actually started motivated in the second half, but Bingham seemed to be more determined to win the game and scored three goals on us in only a few minutes. We called a timeout and Andrew asked us to decide now if we want to win this game or if we gave up. Obviously we wanted to win this game, because we scored three goals and came back to 6:9, but Bingham was good in keeping ball position and the clock was running against us. We lost the game and the chance to play in the finals of the state tournaments, but it was an amazing season that was worth everything. After the game we came together and almost everyone was crying, not because we lost, but because it was our last game together.
Since February I spent every day with lacrosse and those girls. It was an amazing time!

Senior Prom
Prom was amazing. We did GoKart for the day activity and I was the slowest of all 16 in our group. (I was the only one who had never driven a car before and every time I tried to take a turn with speed my kart stopped and rotated around itself.) Then I went with Hannah to the hairstylist and got my hair and my make-up done. Leon picked me up and we drove to Tuscany where we had dinner. It was goooood! The dance was at the SLC library. It was so much fun to see everyone. After the dance we watched a movie and had dessert.
